Three Common MYTHS About Skincare

Hello!

It’s true, a few of the things we’ve been told about our skin are total myths, and they could be doing skin more harm than good!

Here are three common skincare myths…

Myth 1: It’s All About Water

“Water is bad for skin”… It sounds crazy, right?

Yet the truth is too much water ON skin (not drinking it, that is pretty essential 😀 )  cancels out our all-important natural skin barrier.

The top layers of our skin are oily, and water and oil don’t mix. When our skin is subjected to lots of water, that protective layer wears away.

Skin starts to lose hydration from those important deep layers of skin, resulting in tight, unhealthy skin.

Cut down on the amount of water skin is exposed to, turn down the heat in the shower (hotter water erodes that faster) and look for oil-based products for healthier skin.

Myth 2: Foam = Clean

Foam isn’t cleansing. It’s frightening!

Foam is made using sulphates, the harsh chemicals that are used in things like dishwasher tablets. And these doesn’t cleanse….

…they strip away everything! This leaves skin without its natural protective oil barrier leaving your skin tired, dull and dry.

This is made worse as your body goes into ‘oil overdrive’ to try and fix the damage done by the foam and this results in breakouts, unbalanced, unhappy skin.

Say goodbye to foam and go for a natural gentle cleanse for happy, balanced skin.

Myth 3: It’s About What’s NOT Inside

If you have ever felt confused over skincare terms, you are not alone.

A lot of the beauty giants choose to focus on what is not inside their products, instead of what IS inside their product.

Most of the beauty giants FILL their products with water.  Skin products are usually 70-95% plain old water. What a waste for your skin and wallet!

Quality ingredients are always the key.  It was only when I switched to pure natural ingredients I was confident I was caring for my skin with the good stuff.…

….Oats for silky smooth radiant skin… Hibiscus to increase cell turnover and plump skin

I chose natural products because it leaves health in no doubt.

Whatever is right for you, focus on what is inside your products for happier, healthier, more radiant skin.

Love 💗
